06 Dec Lekki Goes Techno
There’s gym equipment and then there’s gym equipment. Level pass level. Power pass power. And if it’s top of the line fitness paraphernalia you’re going for, look no further than Technogym. Looking to upgrade an indoor gym? Then you’re in luck- The top line fitness equipment maker just opened a showroom in Lekki, so you can go and get hands-on with your (potentially) new toys.
Located just past the first roundabout, the Technogym showroom gives potential clients the chance to get up close and personal with the latest offerings from the brand’s many product lines. They’ve got weights, benches, ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, kettlebells, and multi-gyms, amongst a smorgasbord of items.
Particularly striking is Technogym’s Personal line- the Run Personal (treadmill), Cross Personal (elliptical), Recline Personal (bike) and Kinesis Personal (resistance training pulley system). As the name implies, this line caters to individuals that want these machines for personal use. Sleekly designed, the Personal line gives off a strong futuristic vibe, and comes with all the bells and whistles a home gym user could ask for – the in-built UNITY console tracks your fitness, and enables you to continue tracking your progress when you log into any other UNITY powered device. You also have access to your music, Skype and Netflix right from the units’ display screens.
Good things don’t come cheap, however, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for Technogym’s higher end stuff. The Cross personal, for instance, will set you back a cool N6 million. Thankfully, ‘Levels dey’ goes both ways, and there’s much simpler equipment with the same functionality as the Personal line, but at a price that’s not as gut-wrenchingly deep.
Even if you’re not buying anything, it’s never a bad idea to see what’s on offer, and have the technical staff take you through the ins and outs of all the latest high-tech equipment. you’ll definitely get a kick out of it if you’re a fitness buff. Last last, if your private gym in Ikoyi purchases the Cross Personal, at least you’ll already know how to use it.
