07 Dec 5 Fun Fitness Events to burn the calories off this Christmas
Some of us are way too familiar with post-Christmas pant tightness brought on by an overindulgence in small chops, party Jollof and glasses of champagne that seem to flow endlessly in December.
Here’s five festive fitness events that’ll help you burn those excess Christmas calories.
Coming up on December 11, FitFam fest is bringing together fitness enthusiasts, trainers, and a smorgasbord of fitness activities for a day full of fitness fun at the landmark center. So come in your workout gear and get ready to turn up fitfam style! Find out more here!
Truppr Santa dash
Set your alarm clocks for this one folks, because the 2016 Truppr Santa dash events start pretty early (between 6.30 and 7.00 a.m.). The 5k runs should be taking place in Abuja, Ibadan, Uyo and Lagos, amongst other cities. So if you and yours like to leg it, mosey on down to the rendezvous point in your respective cities and get your yuletide run on! Check out truppr to confirm the times and locations for each run!
The Fitness Expo is a two day exhibition scheduled to hold across various cities in Nigeria. From what I hear, it’ll have product and equipment displays, seminars by fitness and nutrition experts, as well as a ton of other health and wellness service providers exhibiting and selling everything from healthy snacks and prepackaged meal options, to supplements and fitness programs. It’s definitely the place to go if you need to pick up anything to boost your fitness resolutions for 2017.

Fabila’s Zumba Party
I’ve never been to a Zumba class, but after a few plates of Christmas jollof, I think I’ll be a bit more inclined to. As fate would have it, there seems to be a Christmas Zumba party placed right in the middle of all the faaji, which should help me manage my waistline. From what I hear, it’s holding on December 17th, at the Green Grillhouse in Lekki, from 9.00 a.m., but you can contact Fabila here to confirm.
Ryder Lounge opening
The details are still being kept under wraps for this one, but the Ryder Lounge – a dedicated indoor spin cycling studio – is set to open its doors sometime in December. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more, but you can stalk them on Facebook and Instagram (@ryderlounge) if you want to know every single move they make, exactly when they make it!
